Is it me or was everything much more fun when we were younger? Today's teenager is angst-ridden and listens to frankly depressing music. We used to spend our days and nights partying, dancing and grooving to the tunes with Glow sticks and flowers in our hair.
We would all get together at a specified time at the weekend (no mobiles to find out where the party was!) and head off to the nearest house party. The lucky person whose parents were away had the task of hosting the party but we all helped to clear up afterwards.
We would dance and sing until dawn, but although we had access to alcohol, no one really drank to get drunk. A couple of beers and we were happy. Making conversation, getting to know new people, the art of which seems to have been lost today. (more...)
